FAQ’s

  • Yes. Modern PV panels generate electricity even in diffuse light. While peak output occurs under direct sun, a typical solar array still produces 20–40% of its rated capacity on overcast days, helping you cut bills year-round.

  • A standard domestic installation (3–6 kW) usually takes 1–3 days on-site:

    1. Day 1: Final site survey & scaffolding

    2. Day 2: Panel mounting & inverter setup

    3. Day 3 (if needed): Electrical connections & commissioning
Larger or more complex commercial systems may take 1–2 weeks.

  • Most domestic solar installations are “permitted developments” in the UK and do not require planning permission, provided:

    • Panels sit flush on the roof, not extending more than 200 mm.

    • They’re not on a listed building or in a conservation area.
If you’re unsure, we’ll handle any paperwork and liaise with your local authority.

  • Absolutely. All our PV systems are battery-ready, with space reserved in the main consumer unit and compatible wiring pre-installed. Adding a battery at a later date is a straightforward upgrade with minimal additional works.

  • Savings depend on your system size, roof orientation, and energy use, but here’s a typical UK domestic example:

    • Annual generation: ~3,000 kWh from a 4 kW system

    • Energy cost savings: ~£500–£700 per year

    • Lifetime savings: £12,000–£18,000 over 25 years
